Whistleblowers are courageous individuals who not only recognize fraudulent misconduct on the part of companies and individual wrongdoers damaging to the government and taxpayers, but who feel compelled to report this misconduct to the authorities.

Having represented whistleblowers for over a decade, EY attorneys recognize that whistleblower clients are unique and nothing like clients in other litigation areas. Whistleblowers tend to be very assertive, intelligent and inquisitive — they are rightfully demanding, detail oriented, and expect regular results. Unfortunately, many attorneys who do not regularly represent whistleblowers, tend to dismiss many of their claims as “far fetched”, “crazy”, or “sour grapes”. Nothing can be further from the truth. With the assistance of attorneys who are experienced in qui tam and whistleblower law, whistleblowers can be assured that their claims, if provable, will get the attention they deserve.

If properly reported with the assistance of experienced counsel, in many cases, whistleblowers are entitled to a significant reward if his or her claim(s) result in a recovery. Because whistleblower law has developed into a complex web of federal, state, and local government laws, it is imperative that the whistleblower select attorneys who not only understand the plight of the whistleblower, but who know their way around the halls of justice.

The success of a whistleblower claim depends not only on counsel’s ability to present a cognizable case to government prosecutors, but to persuade and work with prosecutors to intervene in the whistleblower’s case. EY was founded by former federal prosecutors who not only have developed their experience and expertise while prosecuting qui tam and other whistleblower claims on behalf of the federal government, but who continue to cultivate working relationships with current prosecutors who are responsible for deciding which cases the government deems meritorious and prosecutes. It is EY’s unique understanding of the whistleblower and our unparalled ability to prepare, present, and persuade prosecutors that sets us apart from other lawyers who seek to represent whistleblowers.
